Prevent Workplace Violence in Your Organization

Workplace Violence is a concern at all organizations. According to a Bureau of Labor Statistics survey, 9 percent of companies with 11 to 49 employees have had at least one incident of workplace violence in the past 12 months, while the rate was 16 percent of companies of 50 to 249 employees and 27 percent at companies with 250 to 999 employees.
Social service and health care facilities may be at even greater risk, since their missions often focus on offering care and assistance to at-risk populations. This was tragically illustrated earlier this month, when a client at a drug & alcohol rehab center in Ellenville NY stabbed two employees, killing one.
